Ubiquitous connectivity has created a new paradigm, where the closed, static systems of the past will become obsolete; superseded by a new world of smart, connected machines and intelligent systems that communicate with each other and with people in real time, driving transformation and optimisation in all aspects of our lives.
This is the promise of the Internet of Things, but how realistic is this vision?

In addition, there are new challenges about the way we secure these devices, systems and the data they produce and use.
Perhaps the greatest challenge of the Internet of Things is making sense of, prioritising and using the (potentially vast) quantities of data that these devices and systems generate. Creating user-friendly apps and dashboards which can communicate information quickly is, therefore, one of the key challenges of the Internet of Things.
